Amalis Cordova-Mustafa, a senior majoring in Sociology & Public Health, was recently awarded runner-up while presenting for the Milken Institute during GW's annual Research Days showcase. Her project, Risk of Eviction and Mental Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic, examined the impact of risk of eviction on the mental health of households during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also identified other demographic and health-related factors that affected mental health outcomes during the pandemic. It highlights the need to improve housing affordability policies to protect the health of households and families in the US.
