Amalis Cordova-Mustafa, a senior majoring in Sociology & Public Health, was recently awarded runner-up while presenting for the Milken Institute during GW's annual Research Days showcase. Her project, Risk of Eviction and Mental Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic, examined the impact of risk of eviction on the mental health of households during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also identified other demographic and health-related factors that affected mental health outcomes during the pandemic. It highlights the need to improve housing affordability policies to protect the health of households and families in the US. Congratulations Amalis and thank you for highlighting this important issue!
