The New Jane Crow: A Discussion Surrounding Women and the Justice System Registration

Fri, 26 March, 2021 4:00pm

Over the past 25 years, women have faced a unique experience within the criminal justice system due to expansive law enforcement policies, rigid drug sentencing rules, and post-conviction challenges.

On Friday, March 26th at 12 PM EST, join the GW Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) and the GW Leading Women of Tomorrow (LWT) for a panel discussion on the role of gender dynamics, race, and other factors in the criminal justice system, as well as current policies that affect women in prison.

This moderated discussion will include Esther Matthews and Britany Gatewood from the GW Sociology Department; and Avon Hart-Johnson from the International Coalition for Children with Incarcerated Parents.

RSVP here. We look forward to seeing you all there!
