Tens of thousands of youths are incarcerated today. Yet, this estimation significantly increases when you include those simply involved in the system each year. Incarceration and involvement at a young age can have varying effects on a juvenile.

This Thursday, April 8 at 6:30 pm, join the GW Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) for a panel discussing youth incarceration on a national and local level. Topics will include COVID response, mental health resources, and other surrounding issues.

This moderated discussion will include Dr. Ellen McCann Sfecla from the GW Sociology department; Kieth Hasan-Towery the founder of the founder and Chair of the Marshall Heights Civic Association and 1st Vice-Chair of the Fletcher-Johnson Taskforce; Joshua Rovner manages a portfolio of juvenile justice issues for The Sentencing Project; Mark Motivans a Senior Statistician with the Bureau of Justice Statistics in Washington D.C.
