Post-prison, people just want normal things. Americans say that’s too much to expect
"Americans support some criminal justice reform. But opinion polls suggest that many still think that anyone who has been incarcerated may not necessarily deserve every opportunity because of their criminal past. Such an attitude could hobble Biden administration efforts to bring those who’ve served time fully back into the community.
My research suggests that’s true. While Americans say they support equal opportunities for those returning to society, they may have in mind a lower-grade American Dream."
