Andrea P. McCoy Johnson retired from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office as an Executive Assistant Prosecutor in 2013. During her tenure, she served in the Official Corruption and Crimes, Community Justice and Victim Witness Advocacy Units and was the Director of the Juvenile Division. After retirement she joined the United States Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey and served as a Community Outreach and Reentry Coordinator and Law Enforcement liaison. A former part time lecturer at Essex County College and Rutgers University Newark, she previously taught Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Race and Crime and Juvenile Justice and Delinquency.

Prof. Johnson is a fellow of the Annie E. Casey Foundation Applied Leadership Network, and former member of the New Jersey Council on Juvenile Justice Systems Improvement and the Rutgers University Juvenile Justice and Youth Development Undergraduate Steering Committee.
